The short answer

  • Items from over 100 luxury brands show Not yet verified until the seller adds proof.
  • Verified means the Loop team has checked the receipt, serial number or packaging.
  • Your payment is held until 24 hours after delivery, so you can check before the seller is paid.

Designer listings are marked until proof is added

Loop keeps a list of over 100 luxury fashion, watch and jewellery brands. When an item from one of those brands is listed, it shows a "Not yet verified" mark until the seller adds proof.

What counts as proof

Sellers can add several kinds of proof at once. The Loop team looks at the proof, and when it checks out, the listing shows a green "Verified" mark.

What Verified means, and what it does not

Verified means a person at Loop has checked the proof the seller provided. It does not mean Loop has held the item in its hands, so read the photos and description as carefully as you would anywhere else.

Replicas are not allowed

Listings described with words like replica, AAA, 1:1 or first copy are blocked when the seller tries to publish them. Any buyer can report a listing they think is fake, and the Loop team reviews every report.

Your payment is held until you have checked it

When you buy, your payment is held with Buyer Protection. After delivery you have 24 hours to check the item and report a problem before the seller is paid.

Buying designer pre-loved: a quick checklist

  1. Prefer listings with the Verified mark.
  2. Compare the price with similar items. A price far below everything else is a reason to ask questions.
  3. Ask the seller for close-ups of the logo, stitching, hardware and serial number.
  4. Check the item as soon as it arrives, within the 24 hours.

Selling designer: get Verified

Add your proof when you list. It takes a minute, and buyers can see the Verified mark on your listing before they decide.

Questions people ask

Does Loop authenticate items in person?

No. Loop checks the proof the seller provides, such as receipts, serial numbers and original packaging, and marks the listing Verified when it checks out.

What happens if I report a listing?

The Loop team reviews it. The listing stays visible while it is reviewed.

What if my item is not as described?

Report a problem within 24 hours of delivery. Your payment is held with Buyer Protection until then.
